The Security Key is an item in Granny: Chapter Two.

Description[]

This key is used to open the Security Room, which is on the second floor. After opening the room, you can access the Attic by climbing from the room through a ladder. The Security Key is always attached to Grandpa's Necklace if he is in the game, and you need to kill him or steal it while he is sleeping in order to obtain the key. If you decide to play on Practice mode or with Granny only, the Security Key will then have 5 different spawn locations:

  1. In the Entrance Closet, on top of the chest of drawers.
  2. In the Kitchen, inside the Microwave.
  3. In the First Floor Corridor behind the Red Painting where the Electrical Box is.
  4. In the Dining Room, inside the drawer in the corner.
  5. In the Basement Closet, on the Bench. (Next to the Special Key.)

If Grandpa is in-game, there are two ways of taking the Security Key away from him. The first way is to knock him out, using the Stun Gun, the Shotgun, the Hand Grenade(s), or the Iron Maiden. You can then take the Key from his necklace while he is knocked out. However, if you do not manually retrieve the Key from around his neck, it will disappear and Grandpa will respawn with it. The other way is to take the Key away from him while he is sleeping on the couch, in the TV Room.

Appearance[]

The Security Key appears as a small pale key with a round handle and a thin blade with three small notches.

Trivia[]

  • The Security Key is one of the few items to ever be protected by an actual antagonist, instead of a puzzle, or a Pet.
  • When dropped, it makes the same exact noise as the Safe Key, Padlock Key and Boat Key.
  • Even if the Player has already taken the Security Key and locked the Security Room with the Door Lock or leaves the door locked, Grandpa can still access it. However, the Player needs to use the Security Key to unlock the Security Room again.
  • It might be inspired by the Granny's house music video, since in the song, Granny has the master key attached to her dress, but not her neck.
