The Hand Wheel is an escape item in Granny: Chapter Two.
Description[]
It is only required for the Front Door Escape, as it used to lift the Door Bars up, on the Front Door. To do so, you have place the Hand Wheel on the Crank Shaft in the Basement and press the spinning icon, which will make the wheel rotate three times towards the left, provoking a squeaking noise that will alert Granny but no longer Grandpa. However, it will not lure them to the Basement but to the Entrance because that's where the noise was made, where you'll see that the Door Bars where lifted. Rotating the Hand Wheel will however not make the Door Bars lift on Hard, Extreme or on Extra Locks if you haven't opened the Screw Lock before with the Wrench, on the Front Door. If you try and press the spinning icon while the Screw Lock has not been opened, an "I can't do that yet." message will appear, meaning that the action is not possible yet, unless you unlock the Screw Lock first. The Hand Wheel can be found in a total of 4 different rooms, depending on the Preset you are playing with :

Appearance[]
The Hand Wheel is a small, white, slightly rusted metal wheel with a round edge and 4 slightly curved branches inside connected to a small hole, in the center, where it fits onto the Crank Shaft that is used to lift the iron grate on the front door.
Trivia[]
- When dropped, the Hand Wheel makes a noise similar to the Special Key and the Wrench.
- Using the Hand Wheel after you had placed it will make a loud sound, but Granny will head to front door, as the sound is actually from the Door Bars lock.
- Newer players may confuse it with the Boat Steering Wheel, but remember that the Hand Wheel isn't needed for the Boat Escape and is not used to open the Sewer Gate. Also note that the Hand Wheel is smaller and white, while the is Boat Steering Wheel is larger and has a light brown rim and light brown round part used for connecting to its spot on the Boat held by three gray branches.
- Traditionally, hand wheels are actually used for sewing.
- The Hand Wheel was reused for the Wheel Crank in the original Granny game.
- The Hand Wheel can spawn twice in the Attic, but on preset #5 it is posed a bit differently.
