The Basement is a big room in Granny: Chapter Two.
Description[]
It is located on the floor right below the Ground Floor of Grandpa's House, and can also be found right outside the Starting Cell, where the Player spawns at the start of each Day.
It is one of the House's largest rooms and connects a total of 4 other Rooms together, being the Sewer Deck, (via the Sewer Door leading to the floor below), the Execution Room, the Starting Cell and the Main Room. It does not contain much besides a Crate, 2 pillars, a Bench where two rounds of Ammo can spawn on difficulties Normal and below and a Closet, being the Basement Closet, where items can sometimes spawn.
The Basement is also where the Crank Shaft for the Hand Wheel is located, on the Starting Cell's outside wall. Granny and Grandpa sometimes wander into this room by themselves, most likely on their walk towards the Sewer Deck, though Grandpa sometimes likes to just stand in front of the Camera before going back to his usual wandering. Note that the Basement has a 100% chance to contain an item, since a Crate is located right in front of the Starting Cell's Door ; the Crowbar is however required to open it and obtain the item.
The Camera in this room is connected to the fifth and last Control Screen, meaning that Grandpa will leave the Security Room shortly after the Basement's Camera has stopped beeping, note by the way that this Camera doesn't have full sight on the Room due to its location, and cannot see behind the Bench Wall, in the Closet, or near the Execution Room's door. The staircase at the back of the Basement, towards the Main Room, connecting the two floors together, is the only way in and out directing to the floors above. Note that if one of the Grandparents is descending the stairs, you will see them coming, due to their left arm phasing through the staircase's wall.
Trivia[]
- The other rooms of the Basement Floor are better hiding places than the Closet or the Bench Wall, most likely for the Starting Cell especially, since it has a prison-like bed to hide under.
- On Easy Mode, due to the Grandparents' low speed, it is actually possible to trick them if they are running after you, by looping around the Pillar that's close to the Crate and Starting Cell. This might not work a 100% of the time which is why we advise staying as far away from the Grandparents running after you, and only doing this with one of them.
- Sometimes, when one of the Grandparents walls towards the Sewer Door, they will simply open it, (or the Execution Room's Door) and walk away, back to the Main Room.
- The Crowbar used to spawn on the Closet on Preset #3, but it was later changed in Version 1.0 and moved to Shed.
- The Duct Tape also used to spawn in the closet on Preset #5 but was moved to the Sewer Deck in Version 1.1.5.
